Also: Fuckling deadline has been extended to 9/29. Now you have NO excuse. (I made mine yesterday – so cute!)

There was some Pat Buchanan book out six or seven years ago that supposedly said that it was a big disaster that in X number of years whites would be a minority in America. His proposal, as I understand it, for averting this “crisis” was that all white anglo saxon protestants ought to have at least 6 children as their duty to their country. My sister told me at the time that there was no way she was going to do that so if it ever did become a concern of mine, (which obviously it won’t,) that I would be expected to bear all of HER 6 children as well. I wonder if Pat Buchanan would be willing to pay for the groceries required to feed a family of 12 more or less Aryan children. Or maybe I could convince him to pay for travel expenses out of the United States if I conceived biracial children. I think I’d be willing to go through labor a couple times if it meant I’d get an all expenses paid trip to Switzerland. If I take my patriotic duties seriously I sure hope that he would do me the same favor.

In other baby related comments, my so-awesome friend J gave birth to a four-pound (!) baby girl this weekend. I’m so giddy about it you’d think it was my kid.

There is a really great article about this in Foreign Policy Magazine, two issues ago. Though its focus was less on “conservative v. liberal” than “patriarchy” and why it endures, though it is essentially the same casue.

sb: ha ha ha, yeah, I could always pop out a couple more for all you non-breeders.

Nora: Oh my gosh, four pounds? That’s less than half the size of each of mine. (I’m preparing myself for an 11-pounder this time, just in case.)
