We’re taking two eight-and-a-half month old babies on a plane – actually, two planes – back to my parents’ house in New England. If we make it without being murdered by other passengers, we’ll be there for ten days.

Praying for two charming, angel babies and quick and easy flights.
Have a wonderful time.

Did you arrive safe? Did you remember to bring diapers? Are there any fellow-passengers whose kneecaps you would like us to break?
Inquiring minds want to know.

I’m so glad. But for the record, yes that is crazy.

Dittoing the questions and the opinion that you are nuts. However, I hope that your babies got more admiring coos than dirty looks.

Your kids are so cute, how could anyone want to hurt them??
When we travelled with The Boy, we always bought the extra seat and put him in a car seat. He slept mostly. I refused to take him out, knowing the second that I did he’d run everywhere. He was a good boy. I’m sending you good baby vibes.
Have a safe trip.

Thinking positively for you – I hope it won’t be as bad as you have been told. People are surprisingly helpful and patient when babies are around, and I think travel comfort expectations are greatly lowered around the holidays. If the kids do cry, most people are parents and have been there. Half the plane will be filled with families and babies anyway, so you won’t be alone.
And if they shoot dirty looks, I just smile back. It’s their problem, not yours. Have a great trip!
